It's only Feburary and it's already been a busy year. In Jan. we had a booth at the SHOT Show, where we met a lot of new people and visited with a bunch of friends. Right after that Clint Smith came down and we did 3 classes, and then jumped from there into our regular schedule. Classes are booking quickly, private dates are filling, and we're booking more offsite courses, so it looks like it's going to continue to be a busy year, which is a good thing. Hopefully Clint will be coming down next year so keep checking on the website for notices. These classes will fill fast so don't hesitate. We had a lot of interested people call too late for this year.
My personal training last year consisted of classes with Scott Reitz, Louie Awerbuck, and an instructor class for emergency driving with Crossroads Training Academy. SWAT magazine printed reviews of all these courses. The driving class was especially interesting, and just like my first shooting class this was a real eye opener. If you get the opportunity I would highly recommend the experience.
"The Book of Two Guns" is selling better than ever. Peter Kokalis did a review of it in Shotgun News, and Chase Jenkins covered a class on Shootrite for SWAT magazine. Both of these articles were great and we appreciate the coverage.
We plan to get our shoothouse up sometime this summer, which will almost complete our range facilities. We also have a "Jungle" walk planned which will add another dimension to our training. Shootrite's goal as always is to keep the training as realistic as possible.
For Kydex holsters and mag pouches we have a new recommendation: A Holster. This is operated by Alan Miller, who is an alumni of Shootrite, actually shoots and tests his gear, and is a good guy. There is a link to his company on our website.
We still have openings for our classes at Gadsden P.D. in carbine and precision rifle. This is a great facility and the students are always high caliber. Contact us if you are interested in these classes. Also if you are interested in hosting a class give us a yell. Hosting a class at your range is a great way to get training without the extra costs of travel.
Time is short, and I apologize for this update being brief, and promise I'll update it with some new info and photos as soon as possible. So many social engagements; so little time.
